VRQ L3 Certificate in Management of Volunteers
Volunteer Centre Greenwich is pleased to now be able to offer the VRQ Level 3 in Management of Volunteers.
This course is accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and is qualification in Volunteer Management Course delivered by VCG is a ten week course and includes work-based written assignments.
The units that will be covered:
- Supervise and Support Volunteers: – Developing volunteers’ skills, providing appropriate support and feedback; evaluating and recording the achievements of volunteers.
- Managing volunteer agreements: – Recognising the difference between volunteers and staff, including key legislation examining implementation in your own organisation.
- Promoting volunteering internally and externally: – Define volunteer motivations and how this impacts on recruitment; identifying what values volunteers bring to your organisation and how this can be recognised.
- Managing the risks: – Identifying the potential risks of involving volunteers and how the impact can be minimised.
This course is suitable for people who:
Have a good understanding of volunteer involvement;
Are interested in developing or strengthening volunteer involvement programmes;
Want to have their skills and experience recognised with a formal qualification or want to develop new skills and increase their knowledge.
Timing and costs:
The course is delivered over ten sessions including one to one support time.
There will be five work-based written assignments.
One extra session for portfolio collation and submission.
Course starts on 5th October 2013, 10am until 4pm running weekly for 11 weeks, finishing on 12th December 2013.
The full costs – including Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) registration fee: £850.00
In order to complete the work-based assignments you’ll need to be working or volunteering in a suitable role or you may be in the process of developing a volunteer involvement plan. This can be discussed with the course tutor.
