Young People

Aged 17 – 19?

Want a job but don’t have experience?

Not sure what to do next?

Then the Young People’s Project could be for you…

“I knew I wanted to work with children but didn’t know how to get there. My mentor was so easy to talk to and really helped me out – even waiting for me after my interview. I was so happy when I got my apprenticeship!”

Rae, 17

Why get involved?

We know it can be hard to work out what you want to do or to get a job. That’s why we offer you a mentor. Your mentor will meet up with you once a week to have a chat and help you decide what YOU want to do. They can help you to write application forms, prepare for interviews or just talk about the future.

What can I do?

We’ll also help you find a volunteer role to build up your skills. This will make your CV look good, give you lots of examples to use in interviews and provide you with a reference. It’s also a good way to try out something new.

You can volunteer for a couple of hours or a couple of days a week – it’s up to you. And your travel will be paid for, so it won’t cost you anything to take part.
