Young People’s Project

More than 1 in 10 young people in the UK are not in education, employment or training. This can really affect their future – which is why we have a dedicated Young People’s Project.

What we do we do?

We match young people aged 17 – 19 with volunteer mentors to help them get the support and encouragement they need to find and take up a volunteering placement. These placements then build their confidence and skills so that they have a better chance of finding employment, an apprenticeship or training.

Why use mentors?

Mentors provide support tailored for the young person they are working with. This can be taking them to a volunteer role for the first time, showing them how to apply for jobs or just provide them with a weekly opportunity to blow off steam and share their frustrations. This can really make a difference to someone who is struggling with making decisions or working out their choices.
